Neighbourhood Watch

We are looking for volunteers to act as zone coordinators in the new neighbourhood watch scheme. Each coordinator will be responsible for a geographical area, which will vary in size according to the number of houses and residents involved. He or she will assist the police in passing information to the people in this area and will assist residents, where required, in making reports of incidents or suspicious activity. In certain circumstances, zone coordinators will also pass information between themselves. Generally, they will also encourage their residents to stay alert to the posibility of crime.

Ideally, (but not essentially) coordinators should speak some Spanish and be able to communicate with at least the majority of their residents. They will have access to internet and email and be able to spare an hour or two each week for this task, as well as attend occasional meetings.
